Planning a corporate event, hosting a private party or simply appealed by the idea of an unconventional trip to the Pilsen Urquell Brewery? Want to brush up your beer knowledge with a course following a most agreeable curriculum? Looking for inspiration for an original gift? Love Pilsner Urquell? Well, we’ve teamed up with the brewery to offer this truly sumptuous programme just for you.

We invite you to take part in an unusual field trip to the Pilsen Urquell Brewery where fun and knowledge are served up on tap. The brewery tour will show you where Pilsner Urquell, the legendary beer, has been produced since 1842. You will experience the unique atmosphere of the original historical brewery cellars, topped off by beer and snacks in the toasty Šalanda Salon, where you can drink unfiltered Pilsner Urquell – drawn from oak casks – to your heart’s content. Besides unforgettable memories, you will take home with you an insight into how beer is made, a special gift and a commemorative certificate. This course is part of the study programme at the Royal Wallachian University of Experience!

Tour

1. Visitor Centre
The tour starts in the newly renovated historic building of the former coolships from 1868. The hall’s dominant feature is a model of the brewery from the turn of the 19th and 20th century.

2. Bottling Room
The brewery tour stops off at the new bottling plant, which, with a capacity of 120,000 bottles per hour, is among the most modern in Europe. Visitors are transported here by the special brewery bus. For operational reasons, we have no say in when the bottling lines are running, so we cannot guarantee that you will see them in their full operating glory.

3. New Pilsner Urquell Exhibition
You reach the new exhibition via the largest passenger lift in the Czech Republic. When you exit the rotating panoramic cinema after viewing a film on the secrecy that shrouds the production of Pilsner Urquell, you will have the chance to learn about the unique raw materials in an exhibition that plays on your senses.

4. Brew Rooms
During the tour you will be shown brew rooms from three different centuries. After passing through a historical brew room from the early 20th century, you will be able to peep into the “Pilsner Urquell beer sanctuary” – a modern brew room from 2004. The procedure used to brew genuine Pilsner beer is not applied in any other large brewery in Europe.

5. Hall of Fame
The exhibition in the 19th-century brew room is dedicated to the history of the brewery and memorable milestones from its early years and subsequent expansion.

6. Cellars
The brewery cellars still produce beer the traditional way – by fermentation in open wooden vats and maturation in oak storage drums. Visitors are welcome to taste unfiltered and unpasteurized beer (we regret that Czech law prevents us from serving alcohol to guests under the age of 18).

In the Šalanda Salon, guests will receive a commemorative certificate, a Ludwig glass with the Prazdroj logo, and if they pass a test by answering a question correctly they will be accredited as true beer scientists!
